Sitting right where the suburbs end and the Dandenong Ranges National Park begins, Upper Ferntree Gully's older weatherboard homes get the same measure-and-build approach as any other Brodco job.
Upper Ferntree Gully is a small, mostly residential pocket wedged between Ferntree Gully station and the start of the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road, with the escarpment and National Park boundary close by. Many of the homes here are older weatherboard or timber cottages on tree-covered blocks rather than the brick veneer more common lower down the hill.
Because it's such a small, tightly packed pocket, we know the local road layout and the kind of steep driveways and narrow access that come with it. We measure every job on site so the wardrobe fits the actual room, including any angled ceiling lines that come with an older timber cottage.

Older timber cottages up here were often built with a single shallow robe, sized for a much smaller wardrobe than most households carry today. Sloped ceiling lines and timber-frame walls are also more common than in the brick veneer streets further down, so we design the cavity and doors to work with the room's actual shape rather than assuming a standard square opening.
Most bedrooms in this pocket are modest, so a built-in wardrobe with a well-planned interior usually beats trying to squeeze in a walk-in enclosure. Where an older home has had a rear extension added, the new main bedroom is sometimes large enough to make a walk-in worth considering, and we'll assess that honestly rather than push a bigger job than the room needs.
Upper Ferntree Gully sits at the base of the Dandenong Ranges National Park, with older weatherboard and timber homes on tree-covered blocks.

Yes, we regularly design wardrobes to work with angled ceiling lines and timber-frame walls rather than assuming a standard square cavity.
We plan around steep driveways and limited turning space at the measure stage, so there are no surprises on install day.
Yes, this is a large part of our work here. We focus the internal layout on height and depth rather than relying on extra floor space.
Size, door style and internal fit-out all affect price, so we measure on site first and give you one fixed number rather than a rough guess over the phone.
Typically two to four weeks from a signed-off quote, once your wardrobe has been manufactured off-site.
