Safety Beach is the small strip of coast between Mount Martha and Dromana, best known for Martha Cove and the marina development on its doorstep. The eastern end is newer, purpose-built housing; the older streets are small beach properties that have stayed in families for years.
That split matters when we quote. A marina-side build has straight walls, standard cavities and bedrooms that follow a plan. A 1960s shack two streets back can have its robe recessed into a wall that doesn't run square.

In the marina-side homes the fit-out is the problem rather than the cavity, with builder-grade shelving that can't cope with a full-time household. In the older shacks the whole robe is often a cupboard added later, into whatever space happened to be left over.
